Couldn't Stand the Weather

Nope. this ain't gonna be a tribute to the late great Stevie Ray Vaughn; although it wouldn't be so bad iffin it were.
It be raining today in Lilliput.
Me wanted to go out and enjoy the day by hiking through the woods near me home, but the weather put a damper on me plans.

The local natives say that when it comes to outings there are two types of people: rain folk and sun folk.
Me be a rain man. Iffin there are plans to do something and me be involved, you can bet the farm that storm clouds will follow us around all day.
The Vixen, on the other hand, be a sun bringer. She makes plans fer things and it turns out to be the finest weather imaginable.
Now that winter be approaching me be wondering who should organize our snowboarding trips.
Do ya want sunny skies or snowfall on a trip to a ski resort?

It might seem strange to be talkin about winter sports while the leaves are still clinging to life on the trees, but big vacations take a bit of planning and Me want to go to what me thinks is the best, places in Japan. KIRORO. Me been there before and gots great memories of the place.

When winter tries to keep you shut in yer homes, what do you like to do to escape.

Me no knowing which way the wind blows.

I like to bore secret tunnels under the city so I can ride my go cart to my favorite places across town and avoid the traffic or speed laws.

Of course, VE and I live in the Pacific Northwest Rain Forest. It's raining right now.

I love winter, because winter means snowboarding. Well, at least for another decade, perhaps.

When it is raining down here at sea level, it means snow up top. But I heart precipitation in general.

Kiroro is beautiful! I would love to see the place. There really is not much of a winter in Oakland, thankfully. I don't like cold weather. Yesterday, I had on a sweatshirt and I was warm enough. It has been raining here too. My littl dog is upset but the big dog does not care.

I love the rain and what comes with it. I'll throw on my little red wellies and splash around in it for hours.

I like to go out & play in the rain & then come back in to a nice, hot bath, some movies or books & a fluffy couch to snuggle up on in mountains of blankets & gallons of tea. Rainy days make me slow down a little & I'm grateful for that.

I love a rainy day, but I don't like to be OUT in it. I'd rather snuggle in where it's warm, maybe crank up some Stevie Ray, and do indoor stuff. I do like being out in snow. My dog loves a good, long romp in the snow and I usually oblige her.:)

Ve~ Sounds like the setting fer a Saturday morning cartoon: Vole Man.

Camille~ Are you going to join VE on his subterranean crusade?

Jimh~ You can convert the snowboard into a sand board with a few minor adjustments. DuneRiding will replace the sport.

Corn Dog~ Yes it really is, but the pictures on that sight don't do it justice.

Simply~ Me likes the image of you wearing nothing but red boots, doin a rain dance. YUM! That reminds me of somthing me wrote at the start of me STOMPing days,Check this out!

Emertron~ Change tea into wine or some other alcoholic substance and Me be right there with you.

Kate~ Packing me bags as soon as me be finished here.

Nessa~ Don't have a fireplace. Mebbe a couple o' matches some old furniture and a 55gal. drum would do.

Serena Joy~ Me used to love takin me dog out inna snow. Ya cain't have a snowball fight with a cat.

I listen to music or I clean (sometimes) or I bake or I watch reruns of House.

When it snows, I love to walk outside with my son and throw snowballs. Especially those huge storms--no one is around because they are all inside!

Oh I'm with you, I am rain girl. I love the cold rainy days where you have to stay inside and make your own fun. Of course, in this country, those days are rare as hen's teeth. I think maybe if I lived in England I would change my mind about rain!

When it is sunny, I always feel guility like I'm meant to be out there enjoying it or something. But I have already had two skin cancers cut from my face and so the sun and I are not friends.

I am very sad to hear about your friend who passed away.

Me always thought you were a Rain Man. Do you watch Judge Wapner a lot??

Nope. VE's removed me from his blogroll, so I feel a bit underloved.

Enemy~ The bestest part of snow is when it be coming down. Waking up to a freshly coverd landscape be a close second, but Me likes to be out in the middle of it.

Betty~ "Rare as hen's teeth." That's a new one fer me. Me wonders iffin me can get some on eBay.

Not to worry about me friend. Gonna replace hin real soon.

Mr. Dyckerson~ Only when Me be wearing underwear from K-Mart.

Camille~ An unintentional oversight. Me believes that he will correct that as soon as he realizes it.

Ever tried sandboarding? It sucks. It is in no way a replacement for snowboarding. You can't turn very well, if at all. You can't carve into it, and sand slides like mad so the slope has no integrity. sandboarding is more like stand-up sledding.

Plus I love storm riding, when the visibility is near whiteout, and you have to head for the tree just to see what's in front of you and get some downhill references. It gets so quiet. A sand storm would be... different than that.

That should be "trees", plural.
