A simple moment
Most times when people head fer the beach and it rains there be a great disappointment.
That's how the morning started fer me.
A grey sky and the muted sounds caused by a fine yet steady rainfall made it impossible to stretch out on the sand and even up the tan that comes from playing in the sun.
At first Me were ready to forget about a day at the beach and get back on the road to look fer sumpin different to do. Then it struck me and Me asked meself, "When were the last time you had an entire beach to yerself?"
It may not be what me planned on doing, but me spent the morning walking through the misty rain listening to the sound of the waves as they rolled in and caressed the shore. There were no screaming kids nor bellowing parents. No squeals of delight or peals of laughter. Just me and the stick me plucked from the ocean.
It be good to spend some time with yerself.
Me no doin the hustle.

Oooo, I love an empty beach. I don't even mind rain when I'm there. Rain at the beach is different from rain anywhere else.:)
I agree w/ SJ: that sounds right purty.
...as long as it's warm, who cares if it's raining? a beach is great, no matter what the weather (well, not a tidal wave, of course......)!
Sounds wonderful though I have to admit I do like to see the kids run from the cold waves of the Pacific. That always makes me laugh with them, or maybe at them. THe Pacific is never warm.
I can just picture you Scary...strolling down that beach in a moment of introspection..I like the visual!
HUGS!
SM, it rains almost all the time at our beaches in Oregon. I start with the assumption it is going to rain and then be pleasantly surprised if it doesn't. You know, set your expectations low enough and you'll never be unhappy!
Spend some time alone every day.

Many a man curses the rain that falls upon his head, and knows not that it brings abundance to drive away the hunger.

And when it rains on your parade, look up rather than down. Without the rain, there would be no rainbow.

Being alone on the beach removes any doubts about the transient nature of my existence. Unlike me, the ocean has ever been, and will ever be.

You're good company, Scary.
That sounds very pleasant. I would love an empty beach where I don't feel stared at and shamed by the people checking out my back wig.
It's been a long time since I had my stick plucked.
SJ~ Iffin the rain were a little warmer Me woild have stayed there a lot longer.
Camille~ More than purty, it were quiet. It allowed me to be quiet for a spell.
Libby~ Funny that you mentioned tidal waves. Me didn't watch the news and didn't know about the earthquake in Peru. There be tsunami warnings fer the entire eastern coast of Japan. That might account fer the fact that no one were there.
Corn Dog~ Me loves the festive feel of a day at the beach too. Can't say that the temperature bothers me much. Could be the layer of blubber protecting me from the cold.
leelee~ Just picture me looking like Sean Connery and Me thinks the visual will be even cooler.
VE~ After all the sun shine you've been exposing yerself to; it must be nice to get back to the rain and the blackberries of home.
Mrs.C.~ Great quotes all. Will have to try and remember them.
Greenyflower~ Kinda like a garden gnome, ya.
Ryan~ Youse could get a sponsor and have their logo shaved into yer back and make a buck offa it.
Mr. Dyck!!~ Could be because of the way you dress. Lord knows how gentle and kindhearted you can be to children and women everywhere.
STOMP.
Ok..I can do that Scary....nice
lol to dyke and your response!
I liked Coras quotes.
I definitely wouldnt have stayed. I find the beach in the rain or winter depressing. But then, my idea of alone time is driving in the car to do some errand! lol
I am glad you had a good day. Hope the weather improved for ya today!
