What be you lookin fer?
Travellin be something that every human being should be required to do.
Ya just cain't learn anything without gettin offa yer butt and venturing out into the world.
Me can safely say that any movie, novel or story that includes a realistic or poignant travel scene must be worth experience. Who among you can say that ya didn't want to be in the same car as Otter, Boon, Flounder, and Pinto to pick up some gals and see Otis Day and the Nights?
OKey, so now you've had a laugh and a travel back in Hollywood history, Me wansta talk about gettin from place to place.
When the Monster goes out into the world he figgers he gots two choices about the people he gonna talk to and relate with. The first group be locals who have grown up and lived in the area of their birth for alla their lives.
They know alla people and all the stories and can tell you things about the land you are travelling through that no one else can tell you. The other group of people are the ones that have adopted the city or town as their own and display an outsider's accent to the goings on in their neighborhood.
Me tends to favor the folks who haved moved from their home town to their present place of living for obvious reasons, yet no trip is complete without sittin on both sides of the tracks.
Who do you want to meet when you hit the bricks?
Me no ramblin' man.

Great question! Have to say I'm prolly with you on this one. The doodz who have moved there. Sometimes the ferever locals don't know any better & guide to the wrong pizza place.
I think both side of the fence have their charm... I enjoy the gossiping encounter with the local accointances as much as my life with a British imported not so long ago... and as my daughter's dad is Jamaican, it is another view of our little world... Montreal is an excellent spot to meet the rest of the world...
wow dem wite boyz be hav'n some craxy fun
I had an idea that I'd do a book for a column in the paper that was entitled "Very town in Oregon". I'd personally go visit each town for a couple of days with a template approach more homegrown than most books/articles. Featuring a perspective from both groups you mentioned and having some different features such as Best Dessert location and item; etc. Thought it would be a fun way to spend a year or two.
Oops...typo...that's "Every town in Oregon"
It's a great question and a terrific premise. Maybe I'll be in a better position to answer it when my brain is a little more healed from full moon madness.:)
If you stay any place long enough as an outsider, you eventually become an insider. I think it's fun to know all the little gossip and nuances of a place. On the other hand, I don't like to stay any place too long.
Emertron~ Whenever me needs a good pizza place me just follows me nose.
Searabbit~ Sounds like you got the whole world in yer hands, Ya got the...
Uncon~Thas' what boyz be made fer.
VE~ That would be a fantastical adventure.
SJ~ Go! Go forth and howl until the madness has passed. Then again you could always get some spiritual support from RevBob.
Corn Dog~ The wild geese often call fer ya, huh?
STOMP!
Nobody. I prefer to travel alone.
