A buzzing, flitting, rambling thing.

In a previous post, yesterday's in fact, Me described an interesting or quite possibly inane way to alter your perceptions and learn the words to a song at the same time.
One reader had this to say,

"You didn't know the words to Rawhide? Didn't you ever see The Blues Brothers? :-)"

That wonderful little comment, innocent at first, was the footfall that dislodged a pebble in Me mind. The pebble rolled into a nugget and the nugget and a slurry of sand, loosened a rock which carried itself further along collecting more detritus and momentum. Like the first domino in a line of mini-monoliths, the scree and stones gained power and increased in strength and impetus until it became a landslide, a fusillade of earthy material that thoroughly overwhelmed all other thoughts for the day.

How many songs do you know?
Me no be talking about the chorus or the hook or even a stanza. Me askin you how many songs, in their entirety, can you sing without musical accompaniment?
Me tried it today and figures that me could stand on a street corner and sing about fifteen songs start to finish without mistakes. Me didn't include the happy birthday song or ten little Indians.

Me didn't stop this thought with songs of course.
There were many pieces that me were certain me knew but when me tried to sing 'em me got caught up partway through the lyrics. Maybe me relationship with people be somewhat similar. How many times has me believed that me knew a person only to find out that Me only had the chorus nailed down.
How many people do you know?
Or better yet, how many folks can sing your song of songs?
We all walk to different rhythms and we are constantly creating new verse and melody depending on the way that life be treating us.
Once, just once, Me wants to hear someone say, "I can name that tune in one note, Bob"

Me no hard of hearing.

I usually make up my own lyrics to songs. I know the real ones when the song is playing, but when left to my memory I usually drift to my own.

We're not talking about raggedy old Christmas carols, are we?

Kanrei~ Me suspects that because me do the same thing; making up me own words to songs, that is, Me just never lets the true words ever settle in me memory.

Camille~ Me didn't include any holiday or children's tunes in the tally. That would have skewed the tally and brought things up to 17 or maybe 18.

Mr. Dyckerson~ Maybe Me should buy a Karaoke machine and practice for next years competition.

Me weren't all that concerned about the musical part of the post anyway. Me can sing 100 bottles of beer on the wall and that serves me for most important occasions.

Stomp- CRASH.

I always have a song playing in my heard. After awhile, I unconsciously start changing the lyrics.
